Starting here . . .

A trip to the Amalfi coast changed my life.  Well, it changed my food life to be more precise.  I took a one-on-one cooking class.  The instructor, Vincenzino, instructed me to open the refridgerator in his kitchen.  There was literally nothing it.

"Where do you keep the mayonnaise, teriyaki sauce and other perishables?"  I asked.

"You don't need any of those things," Vincenzino said. "You shop for what you need every day and you don't need to mask the flavors of the food with things like teriyaki."

Thus started the journey.

I live in NYC and have a shoe box sized kitchen.  I shop every day for that evening's meal.  I don't get home from work until 7:30 or 8 o'clock PM so I don't have time for time consuming recipes.  Staying slim is also important, and the food has to look great in addition to tasting great.

I'm starting this blog to share my experiences and easy recipes with you.
